QueerPeers – support and counselling from LGBTIQ* people for LGBTIQ* people

Peer-to-peer counselling is an educational counselling method that combines knowledge of counselling conversations with personal experience as an LGBTIQ* person. Trained individuals are available for confidential and non-binding support discussions either in person, by telephone or via other digital channels. The programme is aimed at all queer people from Thuringia, regardless of age, origin, disability, religion or ideology, and can also be held in languages other than German on request.

What else can we offer you? We want to create a space for you to try things out outside of traditional counselling, in which each person is supported individually and you can have a say in how your concerns are dealt with. We are convinced that there is no “right” way to be queer, but that we would like to accompany you on your personal journey with our commitment, our experience and our knowledge. Our volunteers are therefore also happy to attend appointments with the authorities with you, give you reassurance while shopping together, write applications or letters, explore the city together or simply have a coffee with you to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact the project coordinator Luna at queerpeers@queerweg.de.

The QueerPeers project is funded by the Deutsche Stiftung für Engagement und Ehrenamt and the Share Value Stiftung.
